Merlion Park

Merlion Park is a landmark and major tourist attraction in Singapore, located at One Fullerton near Marina Bay. The centerpiece of the park is the iconic Merlion statue, a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Standing 8.6 meters tall and weighing 70 tons, the statue symbolizes Singapore’s history as a fishing village (“fish body”) and its name, the “Lion City” (“lion head”).

The park was first unveiled in 1972 and has since become one of the most photographed sites in Singapore. Visitors to Merlion Park enjoy panoramic views of Marina Bay Sands, the Esplanade, and the Singapore Flyer. The area is especially popular during evening hours when the city skyline lights up.

Merlion Park remains a cultural icon and a must-visit destination for travelers seeking to capture the spirit and heritage of Singapore.
